I've been screwing around over the past few weeks trying to actually draw. I'm still pretty worthless, especially at hands/feet. Any suggestions would be great! Be brutal!! I won't mind.

I agree with wyrm, try to soften the borders of your drawing and it will look more natural.
I had a similar problem when I started to draw: my characters had very strong line angles and they look petryfied like if they were robots.
Keep practicing that is the way I learned to draw.
